From an interview with Sound & Vision [S&V] magazine's Mike Mettler about Hiatt's latest release, "Master of Disaster." S&V, 2005 October.

[S&V] Sometimes I think people use Pro Tools out of laziness.

[Hiatt] Exactly. Jim (Dickinson, "Master's" producer) was telling me a few horror stories about some of the young bands he's worked with. He'd say to someone overdubbing a guitar, "You've just about got it. Do it again." But then they'd go, "You can fix it can't you?" "No! You son of a bitch, learn how to play! Fix it yourself – manually!"
