We really need to get rid of the nonsense numbers from the government (jobs creations, unemployment, etc.) and come up with a better measurement for understanding if we have an employment problem or not.
I'd prefer to see something along the lines of company's hiring and firing trends each month based on say the 100 company's in each 3 categories:
1) Small employers: 1- 50 employees
2) Mid size employers: 50-500 employees
3) Large employers: >500 employees
This wouldn't tell us how many people were unemployed, but at least we could spot some trends.
